Tryater Accessible
At Tryater, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy theater, regardless of personal circumstances. That’s why we work with various organizations dedicated to creating an inclusive theater experience. We do everything we can to make our performances as accessible as possible for a broad audience.
If you have special requests or questions regarding accessibility, please let us know! If you inform us in advance that you’re coming, we can take your specific needs into account. Send an email to Hilly Kronemeijer, she will be happy to assist you with questions or additional information about the accessibility of our performances. We are happy to help make your theater experience as accessible as possible.
At our performances, we always indicate which of the accessibility options listed below are available.
FOR VISITORS WITH LIMITED MOBILITY
Wheelchair spaces: We have wheelchair-accessible seats at our locations
FOR VISITORS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENTS
Roger Hearing Support (Phonak): For those with hearing impairments, we offer the Roger hearing support system. This is a mobile substitute for a hearing loop and ensures better sound clarity during the performance.
The Roger hearing support can be used in two ways:
- With your own hearing aid in the T or MT setting* and CI (cochlear implant) in combination with the receiver/listening aid.
- With headphones. We provide headphones, but it’s also possible to connect your own (non-wireless) headphones.
Dutch sign language interpreter: For certain performances, we provide a sign language interpreter via smart glasses.
*Note: Do you have a hearing aid? Please check whether your hearing aid is equipped with a telecoil program. A telecoil program improves speech understanding in places like theaters where a hearing loop is installed. Contact your hearing specialist for questions about the suitability of your hearing aid for the T or MT setting to ensure optimal use of the hearing loop.
FOR VISITORS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS
Audiodescription: For those with visual impairments, we offer audiodescription at some performances. This is a description of what is happening on stage, so you can follow everything via headphones.
Assistance dogs: Assistance dogs are always welcome at our locations.
SUBTITLES
Dutch subtitles: For some performances, we provide Dutch subtitles, making it easy to follow the dialogue and text.
English subtitles: For larger performances, we offer English subtitles via smart glasses.
Do you have any questions about accessibility or need more information? Feel free to contact Hilly Kronemeijer. We are ready to assist you!
