Tryater Rûnom
In addition to our theatre performances, we are always looking for ways to exchange ideas with the audience. We regularly organise activities around performances and also independently, and produce expressions that interested parties can enjoy. A podcast, a workshop, an event, it can be anything that further connects a performance or theme to our audience. We bundle these activities under the name Tryater Rûnom.
Under this title, we seek out interested parties all over Fryslân to talk, hear or actively get started in, for example, writing or playing workshops. Sometimes with themes that emerge in our performances. We work together with all kinds of local institutions and initiatives, experts, theatre makers, people from education, experienced experts, governments and theatre associations. Do you see something interesting? Feel free to let us know!
Writing
Tryater regularly organizes writing workshops, in which your pen for theater texts is sharpened, supervised by professionals from our network. This is often linked to a performance, which you will also see within the program. The text can return in, for example, a podcast or other expression. You exchange with your teacher and fellow students, which makes it challenging, fun and extra educational. Frisian, Dutch, it’s all possible. Keep an eye on the website and our newsletter for new offers.
Playing
Tryater organizes an opportunity for players (from beginners to advanced amateurs, both Frisian-speaking and non-Frisian-speaking) to hone their skills every theater season, guided by professional directors and actors from our own network. The commitment varies from a day (part) to a whole weekend. We like to connect Frisian talent to our organization, to help and inspire each other. You can find the current workshops on our website and in the newsletter.
Experiencing
In addition to performances, Tryater also likes to express itself in other ways and along alternative paths. For example, we produce podcasts for some performances, in which we explore a subject in depth. Sometimes in combination with writing or acting workshops. Or we make videos, or organize an event that you can attend. You can also find these activities on the performance pages. You can stay informed about what we do via the website and our newsletter.
Talent development
We continuously create space for talent, out of concern for the next generation of Frisian (language) theatre makers. Through our own talent development trajectories and collaborations with fellow institutions in the Northern Netherlands, such as Station Noord.
