In Fierder nei it Noarden, thirty-year-old Gabe ends up in the garage where he and his mother stranded over twenty years ago. At nine, she took him on an impulsive and unplanned trip to the Far North. Their journey ended in a garage after a car breakdown, where mother and son were forced to spend the night.

Because of her bipolar disorder, his mother often recklessly dragged him into grand fantasies and adventures. Gabe loved her stories, but that night, for the first time, he felt he was on his own.

In the garage, Gabe has the conversation with his mother that was impossible back then. About everything she never understood he needed. And he wants to travel further, literally and figuratively, to the North where they never arrived.

Fierder nei it Noarden is an intimate performance about care, love, and responsibility. About a child forced to grow up too soon, and about returning to finally be able to move forward.

Fierder nei it Noarden takes place in the workshop of the Haaima car garages in Heerenveen, Drachten, and Leeuwarden, respectively. A space that seamlessly connects with the memory of the night that changed everything.
